Opening the plenary session of the Forum on the topic "How to change in order to survive?", President of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs Sergey Voronkov stressed that, compared to 2019, the number of registered associations and unions has doubled, which indicates the relevance and timeliness of the Forum.

The key speakers on the part of industry associations were Alexander Shokhin (President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs), Viktor Cherepov (Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs), Dmitry Kurochkin (Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation), Sergey Voronkov (President of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs), Harald Kötter (director of exhibition activities in Germany of the Association of the Trade Fair Industry AUMA), heads of a number of domestic professional associations.

A separate speech that deserves special attention was the report of economist Andrey Movchan, who expressed his opinion on the development of the economic situation in Russia and the world in the light of the current restrictive measures.

In his speech, the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin noted that the role of professional associations is growing every year, and this became especially noticeable in the context of the pandemic crisis, when many associations became the center for coordinating current activities and receiving support measures for their industries.

The subsequent discussion was conducted around a wide range of topics facing professional associations: building interaction with authorities, adapting to the changed economic and social conditions, managing associations in a new reality, the role of exhibitions in economic development.

Summing up the results of the Forum, its delegates stressed that professional associations continue to play an important role in shaping the social and economic life of their state. The presence of powerful industry associations develops and structures the economy, is an effective catalyst for industry segments in industry, trade and services.

As a result of the session, a resolution will be adopted, which will include all the proposals made during the discussion.
